Exposition à Cotignac!

Isao had a marvellous show at the Cercle des Arts in Cotignac from 17 to 28 August, 2024, opening every day to enthusiastic visitors, including some serious collectors and many local artists including Armand Avril, Nicolas Valabregue, Saskia Van Der Made, Olivier Bataille and Chan Gauth. The show included a video of Isao's performance in the Paper Coat (APT Gallery 2018), recent and older paintings and bronzes. Click on the image of the little Basho below to see the catalogue.
Here are some more pics from the show, including one of 98 year old painting legend ARMAND AVRIL who came to the show every day and wrote "Bravo le Japonais!" in the visitors book.

Art exhibition in Haggerston, London

A new pop-up gallery called Silverlock Ward is hosting a group exhibition next to the Regents Canal in Haggerston from 11-13 April, 2025. Six of Isao's beautiful paintings will be included. Click here for details. Please come to the private view 6-8pm on Friday 11 April.

CASCADE: an exhibition of Isao's recent paintings and sculpture on the theme of WATERFALLS, using the traditional ars povera "Boro" patchwork textile effect to capture the play of light and sound.

A second and much expanded collaborative exhibition, with poet Chris Beckett, at the GLASS TANK GALLERY, OXFORD BROOKES UNIVERSITY from 20 JUNE/ 15 JULY 2016

FELLOWSHIP AT CHELSEA COLLEGE OF ART
Isao has been awarded a 6 month Fellowship in the Foundry at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, starting in October 2014. He will be working on his project to re-interpret Matsuo Basho's poem and prose travelogue, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, which was written in 1689 and is a seminal and much-loved masterpiece of Japanese literature, .
